Welcome to the Summer of Simplex!
Much like the repeater contest, we have a chance to embrace simplex communications and get on the air without the help of a repeater. From June 1st through August 31st, log all of your simplex contacts and activities — every QSO counts!
And here's the best part: Ham and GMRS simplex count equally. Whether you're running 2m SSB, chatting on 146.520, or hitting a GMRS channel across town — it all goes on the board. Let's have some fun with it!
📋 Scoring Rules
| Activity | Points | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 📻 Voice Simplex contact | 1 | Any simplex voice contact — Ham or GMRS |
| 💻 Digital Simplex contact | 1 | SSTV, PSK, RTTY, FT4/8, JS8, Winlink, etc. |
| 🏕️ Voice Simplex in a Park (POTA) | 2 | Activator or hunter — contact made from a POTA park |
Eligible Modes: Voice (FM, SSB, AM) and Digital (SSTV, PSK, RTTY, FT4/8, JS8, Winlink)
Ham Bands: VHF/UHF only — 6m, 2m, 1.25m (220 MHz), 70cm, and 33cm (900 MHz)
GMRS: Fully eligible — same scoring as Ham simplex
📝 How to Participate
After each simplex contact, head to the Submit page and log it. Enter your callsign, the callsign you worked, the mode, frequency, and whether it was a POTA activation. That's it — your score updates automatically on the Leaderboard.
Contacts can be logged any time during the contest period. There's no limit to how many contacts you can submit — every simplex QSO counts!
